Brand new piece from me here in praise of the short story. Fans of multi-volume fantasy should look away.

There's an interview between Keith Brooke and myself about the screen adaptation of Snodgrass on his excellent site...

Rare chance to catch a glimpse me at an SF con. Probably won't even need binoculars...

Pleased to say that I've just sold my most recent finished story to Asimov's. It's another long piece, called Entangled, and is a kind of mirror reverse of the world of The Discovered Country, which is due out from Asimov's in their September edition, in that everyone's alive and happy, and the human condition has been solved. I that doesn't sound like the normal me, I should add that the protagonist is brain-damaged!

stewartHere's a piece by yours truly about the hitherto under-explored link between Andy Stewart, Mary Poppins, Dvorak and King Crimson, as guest blogger on Keith Brooke's Infinity plus blog.

I've just sold a short, Borgesian story about writers, writing and the worlds they create to Subterranean Press to appear in their online magazine. I'm told by editor Bill Schafer that it will be out in the next issue.

More anon.

My new novella, The Réparateur of Strasbourg, has been purchased by PS Publishing for publication in late 2013 or early 2014 publication. More on this when I have anything to pass on.

I'm pleased to report that my story 'The Cold Step Beyond' (Asimov's, June 2011) has been selected by Gardner Dozois for inclusion in his Best Science Fiction 2012 anthology.
